Along the weathered wooden storefronts of Hatonomachi Dori Shopping Street in Sumida Ward's Higashi-Mukojima stands Kissa Chirin, an intimate traditional townhouse kissaten with around 6 seats. Tracing its origins back to a bicycle repair shop, the space features upcycled tables, bicycle components, bells, and reflectors, cultivating a warm, nostalgic atmosphere.

For a meal, patrons can choose between classic spaghetti Napolitan—served with grated cheese and Tabasco to adjust to taste—or a spiced daily curry. Alongside an aromatic cup of coffee, following up with traditional homemade pudding or muffins is the house standard.
